We invest in young men in the 11th grade by providing them with a hands-on civics education and helping them develop/hone their leadership skills. We also help them explore college options and apply to college.
Because: 1) our future depends on today's young people; 2) our young people deserve every opportunity that we can afford to give them; and 3) because people invest in people they care about.
By making a donation to our cause, so that we can invest as much in our young people as we possibly can.
Are you an 11th grade young man that lives and/or attends high school in Jamaica Queens? Then you should join us! Click the "Join Us" button below. We'll e-mail you with the next steps. Don't delay! Only a limited number of spots are available.
Please attend an information session, or reach us at civicduty@abetterjamaica.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The Fall of 2022 Civic Duty cohort is the first-ever.
An important part of the Civic Duty program is its focus on the college exploration and application process. College exploration should begin no later than the 11th grade.
Young men and women – particularly of high school age – are often distracted by each other. In order to minimize the distractions within a cohort, we've decided to make each cohort single gender. In the future, it is likely that we will provide a cohort for women.
